When to use this article
Use this walkthrough when you received a code or QR Code to join an existing ParensUP family.

Join an existing family

If another guardian has already created the family on ParensUP, you can join using the invite code or by scanning the QR Code they shared.

Open the ParensUP app

On your phone, open the ParensUP app.

Tap "I have a code"

On the home screen, tap I have a code.

Enter the code or scan the QR Code

You can join the family in two ways:

Choose one of the options below
Using the 6-digit code
Type the code shared by the guardian who created the family and tap [Verify code].
or
Using the QR Code
Ask the guardian to share the QR Code and scan it.

Check the family found

If the code is correct, the app will show the family information, including the name of the guardian who created the account.

Confirm it's the right family.

Then tap Join family.

If the code is wrong or it's not the expected family, tap Use another code.

Fill in your details

Now you'll create your guardian profile inside that family.

At each step, tap Continue:

  1. Choose an avatar.
  2. Fill in your name.
  3. Enter your relationship.
  4. Enter your date of birth.
  5. Select a characteristic that describes you.
  6. Choose your goal in the app.
  7. Tap Create my experience.

The app will load the information and prepare your access to the family.

Create your account

On the account creation screen, confirm your name and relationship. Then choose how to create your account:

You can sign in two ways
Continue with Google
Tap [Continue with Google], select your Google account, accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and choose whether to receive news by email.
or
Email and password
Enter your email, create and confirm your password, accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, choose whether to receive news by email, and tap [Create account].

See the welcome screen

After creating your account, the app will show a welcome screen to the family.

On this screen, you'll see details about what you'll be able to access and do in the app.

Tap Get started.

All set! You joined the family.

Now you can access ParensUP as a guardian and follow the family's routine.

💡 Tips

  • Use the most recent code or QR Code sent by the guardian.
  • If the code doesn't work, ask the guardian to generate or share a new invite.
  • Confirm the family name before tapping Join family.
