When to use this article

Use this walkthrough to add a child to ParensUP — either while creating your account or after your account is already set up.

Create a child profile

On ParensUP you can create a child's profile during your first access to the app, or add a new child later through the family settings.

Option 1

Create a child while creating your account

Use this option if you don't have a ParensUP account yet.

Open the ParensUP app

On your phone, open the ParensUP app.

On the home screen, tap Get started.

Choose the type of experience

Select one of the options:

Then tap Continue.

You'll choose one of the options below

Complete family

Creates the adult guardian profile and the children's profiles.

Children's routine

Goes straight to the children's profiles.

Tell us how many children will use the app

Select the number of children you want to add.

Then tap Continue.

Fill in each child's details

For each child, follow the app's steps:

Choose an avatar.
Enter the name.
Enter the date of birth.
Select a characteristic for the child.
Choose a goal for the child.

At the end, tap Create my experience.

Create your account

After setting up the profiles, create your account with Google or email and password.

Choose between Premium or Free

After creating your account, you can choose to start with Premium or continue on the free plan.

What changes in each plan

If you subscribe to Premium

You'll be able to keep more than one child (according to the plan limit) and create the initial experience with more complete features.

If you stay on Free

Only 1 child profile will be created. If you added more than one child during initial setup, only one will be kept. Tasks must be created manually.

Option 2

Add a child after creating your account

Use this option if you already have a ParensUP account and want to add another child to the family.

Open the ParensUP app

On your phone, open the ParensUP app.

Important: adding more children is a ParensUP Premium feature.

Sign in as guardian

On the home screen:

Tap I already have an account.
Tap I'm an adult.
Sign in with your registered account.

Go to Settings

On the app's bottom bar, tap Settings.

Open "Manage family"

On the settings screen, tap Manage family.

Tap "Add child"

On the family management screen, tap Add child.

Fill in the child's details

Follow the app's steps:

Choose an avatar.
Enter the name.
Enter the date of birth.
Select a characteristic for the child.
Choose a goal for the child.

Choose how to create the tasks

After filling in the child's details, choose one of the options available:

How tasks will be created

Create with suggested tasks

ParensUP creates initial tasks based on the child's information.

Create without suggested tasks

The child's profile will be created without automatic tasks. You can create tasks manually later.

All set! The child has been added.

Now you can follow their routine in the app.

💡 Tips

On the free plan: 1 child, 1 guardian and manually created tasks.
On ParensUP Premium: more children (according to plan limit), profiles with suggested tasks and more complete features to follow the family's routine.
