When to use this article

Use this walkthrough to create, edit, delete, or view the history of a special goal.

Special goal: create, edit, and delete

The special goal helps the child save up points or symbolic money to reach a bigger milestone, like a new toy, an outing, or another reward agreed with the family. It is an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature.

Part 1

Create a special goal

Sign in to your guardian account

On your phone, open the ParensUP app and sign in with your adult/guardian login.

Important: the special goal is an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature. See how to activate Premium if you don't have it yet.

Select the child's profile

At the top of the screen, tap the current profile name.

The app will open a profile selector. Choose the child you want to create the goal for.

Go to the "Home" tab

On the app's bottom bar, tap Home.

Tap the special goal card

On the Home tab, tap the special goal card.

Name the goal

Enter the name of the special goal.

Examples:

Buy a new toy
Save up for an outing
Earn a special reward

Set the target

Choose whether the target will be in:

Points
Symbolic money

Then enter the value the child needs to save up. The child can build up that value by completing tasks, earning bonuses, doing good deeds, and using other features available in the app.

Set the deadline

Choose by when the child needs to reach the value defined.

Set a bonus if you want

If you want, add a bonus for when the child finishes saving up the value of the special goal.

Tap "Create goal"

After reviewing the information, tap Create goal.

All set! The special goal has been created. From now on, the goal starts to count and the child can track progress until reaching the target.

Part 2

Edit a special goal

Open the "Home" tab

On your adult/guardian login, select the child's profile and go to the Home tab.

Tap the goal card

Tap the card of the special goal you want to edit.

Tap "Edit"

At the bottom of the goal screen, tap Edit.

Make the changes

The form will open with the goal's current information.

Change whatever you need.

Save the changes

After reviewing, save the changes.

All set! The goal has been updated. The new settings start to apply according to the changes made.

Part 3

Delete a special goal

Open the "Home" tab

On your adult/guardian login, select the child's profile and go to the Home tab.

Tap the goal card

Tap the card of the special goal you want to delete.

Tap "Delete"

At the bottom of the goal screen, tap Delete.

Confirm the deletion

Read the confirmation message carefully.

If everything looks right, tap Delete to confirm.

Heads up: deleting removes the goal from the child's routine. Review carefully before confirming.

Part 4

View goal history

In the history you can track the child's progress and see which goals were reached, not completed, or are still in progress.

Open the "Home" tab

On your adult/guardian login, select the child's profile and go to the Home tab.

Tap "View history"

On the goal card, tap View history at the bottom-right corner of the card.

Choose a goal

Tap a specific goal to see more details.

You can see the completed tasks that were part of that goal.

All set! You opened the goal history. Use it to see which goals were reached, not completed, or still in progress.

💡 Tips

The special goal is available only on ParensUP Premium.
Points and money in ParensUP are symbolic — they work as an educational tool to encourage responsibility and organization, but don't represent real money.
Deletion is permanent: once confirmed, the goal is no longer active for the child.
