Unmark a completed task or mark a task as not done
ParensUP has two different actions to fix a task's status — learn when to use each one.
- Unmark a completed task: when a task was marked as done by mistake and you want to set it back to pending.
- Mark a pending task as not done: when the child didn't do the task and the guardian wants to deduct the symbolic reward assigned to it.
Unmark a completed task
Use this option when a task was marked as done by mistake. Unmarking returns it to pending, and the symbolic points or money from that completion stop being counted.
Sign in to your guardian account
On your phone, open the ParensUP app and sign in with your adult/guardian login.
Select the child
At the top of the screen, tap the child's name.
The app will open a profile selector. If there's more than one child in the family, choose the desired child.
Go to the "Tasks" tab
On the app's bottom bar, tap Tasks.
Find the completed task
Look for the task that was marked as done.
Unmark the task
You can do this in two ways:
Mark pending tasks as not done
Use this option when the child didn't complete a task and you want to record it as not done. In this case, the symbolic value assigned to the task is deducted from the child's current total.

Select the tasks
Choose the pending tasks you want to mark as not done.
You can select one, several, or all available tasks.
Tap "Mark task(s) as not done"
After selecting the tasks, tap Mark task(s) as not done.
Confirm the action
Read the confirmation message carefully.
If everything looks right, confirm the action.
All set! The tasks were marked as not done.
The symbolic value assigned to the selected tasks will be deducted from the child's current total.
💡 Tips
- Use unmark completed task when a task was marked as done by mistake.
- Use mark as not done only when it makes sense to deduct symbolic points or money according to your family's agreements.
- For example: if a task is worth 5 points and $1.00 symbolic, marking it as not done deducts that value from the current balance.
- Points and money in ParensUP are symbolic — they work as an educational tool but don't represent real money.
- Review the selected tasks before marking them as not done. This action cannot be undone.
