Restrictions: view, edit, and remove

Restrictions are consequences recorded by guardians, usually from an incident — agreements like no screens, pausing an activity, or another consequence defined by the family. It is an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature.

Part 1

How a restriction appears in the app

01

The Restriction card on the Home tab

When there is an active restriction, it appears on the Home tab, in the top-right Restriction card:

  1. No restriction: card in green with the message "No restriction".
  2. Active restriction: card in red or pink, showing the name (if there is only one), the count (if there is more than one), and the deadline, if any.

If the restriction has no deadline, it stays active until it is removed manually by the guardian.

Important: restrictions are part of the Behavior tab — an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature. See how to activate Premium if you don't have it yet.
Part 2

View restrictions

01

Choose the login

Restrictions can be viewed from:

Choose the login
From the adult login
On the child's profile.
or
From the child's login
Available if the child has individual login activated.
If you chose From the adult logincontinue to step 02

If you chose From the child's login, continue to step 03

02

View from the adult login

  1. Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login.
  2. Select the child's profile.
  3. Go to the Home tab.
  4. Tap the Restriction card.
03

View from the child's login

  1. The child signs in to the app with their individual login.
  2. Goes to the Home tab.
  3. Taps the Restriction card.
The child can only view active restrictions — they cannot edit, delete, or remove.
Part 3

Edit a restriction

Editing restrictions can only be done from the adult/guardian login.

01

Open the Home tab on the child's profile

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login and select the child's profile.

02

Tap the Restriction card

On the Home tab, tap the Restriction card.

03

Select the restriction

Tap the restriction you want to edit.

04

Tap "Edit"

On the details screen, tap Edit.

05

Make the changes

Change whatever is needed in the form.

06

Save the changes

After reviewing, save the changes.

All set! The restriction has been updated.
Part 4

Delete a restriction

Delete removes the restriction from the history — different from remove, which only ends the active restriction (see Part 6).

01

Open the Home tab on the child's profile

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login and select the child's profile.

02

Tap the Restriction card

On the Home tab, tap the Restriction card.

03

Select the restriction

Tap the restriction you want to delete.

04

Tap "Delete"

On the details screen, tap Delete.

05

Confirm the deletion

Confirm the deletion.

Heads up: deletion removes the restriction from the history permanently. If you only want to end the active restriction (keeping it in the history), use Remove restriction in Part 6.
Part 5

Delete multiple restrictions

01

Open the Home tab on the child's profile

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login and select the child's profile.

02

Tap the Restriction card

On the Home tab, tap the Restriction card.

04

05

Tap the trash icon

Tap the trash icon.

06

Confirm the deletion

Read the confirmation carefully and confirm.

Heads up: review the selected restrictions before confirming. Deletion is permanent.
Part 6

Remove an active restriction

Use this option when the restriction still exists in the history, but you want to end the active restriction.

01

Open the Home tab on the child's profile

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login and select the child's profile.

02

Tap the Restriction card

On the Home tab, tap the Restriction card.

03

Find the restriction

Find the restriction you want to remove.

04

Tap "Remove restriction"

Tap Remove restriction.

All set! The restriction has been removed. From now on, it no longer appears as an active restriction for the child — but it stays in the history.

💡 Tips

  • If the restriction has a deadline, it stays active until the date defined.
  • If the restriction has no deadline, it stays active until it is removed manually by the guardian.
  • The child can view restrictions on the individual login, but cannot edit, delete, or remove restrictions.
  • Use restrictions carefully and always according to the family's agreements.
