When to use this article

Use this walkthrough to give, edit, or delete bonuses in ParensUP.

Bonus: give, edit, and delete

A bonus is an extra value the guardian can give to the child at any time — symbolic allowance, encouragement for extra effort, or another reason defined by the family. It is an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature.

Part 1

Give a bonus

Open the incentive creation screen

There are two paths to reach the creation screen:

Choose the path

From the Home tab

Via Quick actions on Home.

From the Incentives tab

Via the + Create incentive button.

Important: bonuses are part of the Incentives tab — an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature. See how to activate Premium if you don't have it yet.

If you chose From the Incentives tab, continue to step 03

Open from the Home tab

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login.
Go to the Home tab.
In Quick actions, tap Create incentive.
Select Bonus.

Open from the Incentives tab

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login.
Go to the Incentives tab.
Tap the + Create incentive button.
Select Bonus.

Set the value

Enter the bonus value.

This value will be added to the child's symbolic balance.

Enter the reason

Write the reason why the child is receiving the bonus.

Tap "Give bonus"

After reviewing the information, tap Give bonus.

All set! The bonus has been recorded. The value will be added to the child's symbolic balance. It will be available in the Incentives tab, under the Bonus card.

Part 2

View a bonus

Open the "Incentives" tab

Open the Bonus card

On the Incentives tab, open the Bonus card.

Tap the bonus

Tap the bonus you want to view.

Part 3

Edit a bonus

Open the bonus

On the Incentives tab, on the Bonus card, tap the desired bonus.

Tap "Edit"

Tap Edit.

Make the changes

Change whatever is needed in the form.

Save the changes

After reviewing, save the changes.

All set! The bonus has been updated.

Part 4

Delete a bonus

Open the bonus

On the Incentives tab, on the Bonus card, tap the desired bonus.

Tap "Delete"

Tap Delete.

Confirm the deletion

Confirm the deletion.

Heads up: deletion is permanent — the bonus no longer appears in the child's history.

Part 5

Delete multiple bonuses

Tap and hold a bonus

On the Incentives tab, tap and hold a bonus to enter multi-select mode.

Select the bonuses

Select one, several, or all the bonuses you want to delete.

Tap the trash icon

Tap the trash icon.

Confirm the deletion

Read the confirmation carefully and confirm.

Heads up: review the selected bonuses before confirming. Deletion is permanent.

💡 Tips

The bonus adds value to the child's balance.
Points and coins in ParensUP are symbolic — they don't represent real money and don't allow withdrawals.
