When to use this article

Use this walkthrough to create, edit, delete, or redeem rewards in ParensUP.

Rewards: create, edit, delete, and redeem

Rewards are agreements defined by the family to motivate the child. They can be simple (hug voucher, picking dinner) or bigger (an agreed outing). It is an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature.

Part 1

Create a reward

Open the incentive creation screen

There are two paths to reach the creation screen:

Choose the path

From the Home tab

Via Quick actions on Home.

From the Incentives tab

Via the + Create incentive button.

Important: rewards are part of the Incentives tab — an exclusive ParensUP Premium feature. See how to activate Premium if you don't have it yet.

If you chose From the Home tabcontinue to step 02

If you chose From the Incentives tab, continue to step 03

Open from the Home tab

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login.
Go to the Home tab.
In Quick actions, tap Create incentive.
Select Reward.

Open from the Incentives tab

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login.
Go to the Incentives tab.
Tap the + Create incentive button.
Select Reward.

Fill in the main information

Enter:

Icon
Reward name
Category

Then tap Next.

Set the reward's cost

Enter the values the child needs to have to redeem this reward. The cost can be set in:

Points
Symbolic coins

When the reward is redeemed, that value will be deducted from the child's symbolic balance.

Set the monthly limit

Choose how many times the child can redeem this same reward within the month.

If the limit is 0, the reward has no monthly limit, as long as the child has enough balance. The redemption counter resets every month.

Tap "Create reward"

After reviewing the information, tap Create reward.

All set! The reward has been created. It will be available in the Incentives tab, under Available rewards.

Part 2

Redeem a reward

The reward can be redeemed from the adult login (on the child's profile) or from the child's individual login, if it is activated.

Choose who will redeem

Select the path you will use:

Available if the child has individual login activated.

If you chose From the adult logincontinue to step 02

If you chose From the child's login, continue to step 03

Redeem from the adult login

Sign in to the app with the adult/guardian login.
Select the child's profile from the top bar.
Go to the Incentives tab.
Open Available rewards.
Tap Redeem on the desired reward.
Confirm the redemption.

Redeem from the child's login

The child signs in to the app with their individual login.
Goes to the Incentives tab.
Opens Available rewards.
Taps Redeem on the desired reward.
Confirms the redemption.

If parental approval is active, the redemption stays pending until the guardian approves.

Part 3

Edit a reward

Open the "Incentives" tab

Tap the reward

Tap the reward you want to change.

Tap "Edit"

On the reward's screen, tap Edit.

Make the changes

Change whatever is needed in the form.

Save the changes

After reviewing, save the changes.

All set! The reward has been updated. The new settings start to apply according to the changes made.

Part 4

Delete a reward

Open the "Incentives" tab

Tap the reward

Tap the reward you want to delete.

Tap "Delete"

On the reward's screen, tap Delete.

Confirm the deletion

Confirm by tapping Delete.

Heads up: deletion is permanent — the reward is no longer available for the child.

Part 5

Delete multiple rewards

Tap and hold a reward

On the Incentives tab, tap and hold a reward to enter multi-select mode.

Select the rewards

Select one, several, or all rewards you want to delete.

Tap the trash icon

Tap the trash icon at the top or bottom of the screen.

Confirm the deletion

Read the confirmation carefully and confirm.

Heads up: review the selected rewards before confirming. Deletion is permanent.

💡 Tips

The reward's value is deducted only when it is redeemed.
If the child has individual login, activate parental approval to review redemptions before the balance is deducted.
Points and coins in ParensUP are symbolic — they don't represent real money and don't allow withdrawals.
